Mindex: Your Thinking Styles Profile

Mindex was created in 1985 by Dr. Karl Albrecht. He looked at the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and thought something was missing. He organized a 100-question inventory to determine four key themes, resulting in four key result areas: Are you primarily a left-brained thinker or a right-brained thinker? Are you primarily a concrete thinker or an abstract thinker?

Using a four-square grid, Dr. Albrecht reasoned that there are Left-Brained Abstract thinkers (who he called “Blue Sky”); Left-Brained Concrete thinkers (who he called “Blue Earth”); Right-Brained Abstract thinkers (who he called “Red Sky”); and Right-Brained Concrete thinkers (who he called “Red Earth”). While all of us move through each of these four thinking styles regularly, we often have a preferred style.

Mindex is actually simpler to remember and easier to apply in professional and personal settings. This session will explain this nearly 40-year-old model, discuss the norm base that has successfully validated the concepts over a vast array of users, and describe how to use it to understand yourself and others. Normally the Mindex assessment alone costs $30, not including the book or presentation, so we are very excited to bring this incredible value to our members and friends.
